MEDITATION
Find a comfortable resting position.
Take ten slow, deep breaths.
You are always experiencing many physical, mental, and emotional sensations. The sounds of traffic, or the feeling of your feet on the ground.
Gradually adjust your attention until you are simultaneously aware of all your current sensations. When doing so, there is a feeling of expansiveness.
Acclimate.
Now it is time to “step backwards.” At any point during this process, it is okay to close your eyes.
Notice the ways in which your sensations are similar. Perhaps many of the things you see are black, or articles of clothing. Perhaps many of your internal sensations feel similar.
Notice deeper, more fundamental similarities. This collection of sensations are all sounds. This collection of sensations are all thoughts.
These are all sensations.
There is sensation.
